I’m sitting here at my daughter’s house in beautiful, sunny Florida. She had to work today, so I was relaxing with my morning tea and my grand fur baby. As I was reading on some posts in Faith in heARTs Facebook group I was realizing that some people don’t know where to start in their journey in Artful Worship.
I prayed about it and this is where God led me. He led me to share this info with all of you. That is not all I will be sharing. Nope! Are you ready? One hint…giveaway!!
I’ve said in a past post, “What is Bible Journaling” that you do not have to be an artist to journal in your Bible. There are other ways that you can join in artful worship. So, are you wondering how to begin Bible journaling?
One of the more common ways is to highlight the words in the Bible that speak to you. You can also write in the margins of your Bible. Leave notes about the things you want to remember or the sermon notes that you jotted down at church. Maybe there are things you talked about in Bible study and want to one day look back on.
Your own handwriting is the best form of lettering when you are journaling. If you are wanting to spread your wings and get more creative you can use colored pencils, stamps & ink or even use different color pens when writing.
Bible journaling does not have to be difficult or overwhelming it’s a journey that is meant to be relaxing and joyful. It’s meant to bring you closer to God and His Word. It’s not about all the pictures you see online, it’s about your interpretation of how God speaks to you. Your Bibles or journals are your legacy for future generations.
There are a ton of wonderful ways to journal in your Bible and if you are not comfortable writing or drawing in your Bible then you can use a journal.
Now your asking, “Where do I start”? Start with your favorite book or if you are doing a Bible study you can start on the book your are studying. Try and devote some time each day to journaling and studying God’s Word. If you put the time it in will become a habit and you will look forward to spending time in artful worship.
Just remember if you are questioning your ability to create. Just write, doodle, or use what you have. If you are unsure how to do something or use a particular supply just ask. If you have a question just leave me a comment and I will give you some ideas.
This is not about perfection, it’s about enjoying the Word.
